Head Chef

Fish on the quay, is a popular pub/restaurant based on Maldon Hythe Quay. Part of a small family run business of restaurants and bars which is ever expanding across the south east. Currently looking for full time Head Chef.

You will be responsible for the food culture within the restaurant, working closely with the Manager to drive the business forward. About you…

Our kitchens are dynamic, fast paced and high volume – do you have the vision and personality to thrive as a Head Chef in an environment like this? Previous experience in a premium seafood food led business is essential. You’ll also need excellent business acumen in order to manage a well-run kitchen, keeping on top of your stock, GPs and labour controls. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of support to help you along the way.

Essentials

A clear passion for food
Exceptional organisation skills
Oversee and supervise kitchen staff
Ensure food is produce to the highest standard
Strong understanding of Kitchen hygiene and maintain high company standards
Closely monitor health and safety of the kitchen environment and ensure we are fully compliant
Work well as a team and individually
Great time management
Work well under pressure and keep calm
Manage fresh produce
Great communication skills
Must have 2-3 years experience working in a fast paced kitchen environment
Must be flexible working evening and weekend and covering annual leave/absences
Assist in development of new menu’s with revenue and profit in mind.
Monitor stock and place supply orders when needed.
Preferred

NVQ level 2/3 but not essential
